GAYNOR REVIEW 2021
GAYNOR BOWL SUCCESS FOR U15s
DISAPPOINTMENT FOR U13s
It was another red letter day for the Limerick Desmond Schoolboys/Girls League last weekend when we were doubly represented at the 2021 Gaynor Finals played in UL. We have reached Gaynor finals before but never had two sides reach finals. This is a major achievement for our league and goes to show the high levels of skill, determination and desire amongst both sets of players. Add to this the very high level of coaches and coaching programmes we are extremely lucky to have in our league. The results speak for themselves.
This U13 squad have had a fairy tale season with a 100% record in the group stages with wins against Cork, Kerry, South Tipperary and Limerick County and MGL North away in the semi-final. However, there is much more to come from this squad and management team and we eagerly look forward to the next stage of their development.
The U15s are a very experienced squad at this stage having won two Gaynor titles already, defeating Mayo in the Gaynor Plate and Clare in the Gaynor Trophy. After defeating Kerry 5-0 in the semi-final it was a similar score line on Saturday against Inishowen, the game turning in our favour with two quick goals before half time to give us a 3-0 lead at the break and the side never looked back after this.
