Match Reports from our Quarter Finals
LIMERICK DESMONDS V LIMERICK COUNTY UNDER 13s
We were in Killeaney on Sunday 1st May 2023 for our boys much anticipated All Ireland Bowl Quarter Final.
Our boys started with very high tempo & passing was crisp & accurate this paid off with us taking the lead after the 10 minute mark with a brilliantly struck free kick from Dan Healy , this seemed to settle the boys down a great deal , Desmond boys kept pressing the County defence and another goal followed with a sharp follow up from a free kick by Conor o Dwyer to make it 2-0 , just before half time we ended a brilliant move down the right wing with a stinging shot by Finn Ruttle to make it 3-0.
Half Time 3-0.
Limerick County started the second half very strongly and pressed hard from the re start & with that the lead was cut to 3-1 where County scored from a free kick, Limerick Desmond heads did not drop and mid way through second half an excellent run & finish from Conor O dywer made it 4-1 , Desmond boys continued there fine passing and we were well organised with our defence and the final few minutes were seen out with County scoring a penalty with the last kick of the game to make it 4-2.
An excellent performance from the whole squad again a massive mention to the side line support that the boys had so greatly appreciated.
Match Reports from our Quarter Finals
LIMERICK COUNTY V LIMERICK DESMONDS UNDER 12s
All roads led to Kilmallock on Sunday 26th March 2023 for our boys much anticipated All Ireland Bowl Quarter Final
Our 12s needed no motivation for this match at all knowing an All Ireland Semi Final slot was up for grabs , on a very crisp clear and most importantly dry day considering the past weeks weather of consistent rain , pitch was in great condition.
Limerick Desmond started extremely well with our keeper & defence very well organised & managed the long ball tactic from County with no issues , we played some fantastic football around mid field area & our wingers were starting to find space , this work paid off when after 20 minutes we found the back of the net from a fine strike from Joey O Regan 1-0 , our boys were now really pushing hard & slotted a second goal just before half time with a fine finish & celebration from Jimmy Mullane.
Half Time 2-0.
County came out very strong at start of second half and within 5 minutes they had knicked a goal back to make it 2-1 , an exceptional performance for the remaining 20 or so minutes from the squad with substitutions playing a great part in the performance, keeper & defence were brought into play as time kicked on but we were well able for anything that Limerick County tried, full time whistle and scenes of great celebrations from all involved.
Again special mention to our side line support none of this is possible without the help of parents, friends, relatives some who have travelled a long distance at times to watch the boys.
